Why Bother Investing In Project Management Software?

Okay okay, so why the hell would you bother spending your hard earned income on project management software like basecamp when you’re ‘doing fine’ without it?  Because of us, duh!

Kidding!
I’m going to use Basecamp as an example, as that’s what we currently use, and I’d like to point out that his is NOT a paid promotion or anything of the sorts, I just think its awesome for growing businesses.

So if you were like me and have no idea what basecamp is then hear me out, basecamp is, in their own words “All growing businesses run into the same fundamental problems. Hair on fire, buried under email, stuff everywhere. The good news? Basecamp solves them.”

It’s basically a piece of software that allows everyone in your company to communicate with pure ease. You can create groups for separate projects within the company, you can have direct messages (pings) with one another or group chats (campfires) just to make communication easier, say if you were in a different room to someone you are working with, just direct message them instead of those flipping emails. And to sweeten the deal, you can transfer files through direct message without any quality compression or file size limits.
For each project there is a section for people to set up a to do list for individual tasks, as you know, some tasks have multiple jobs to be completed. This is a life saver when it comes to project/team management, you can see who has to do what, even down to the super small micro managing sections, without micro managing.
