We’re delighted to announce that Diony’s Managing Director, Alistair O’Sullivan, has been awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year in last night’s Hull Business Awardspowered by Business Live.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been considered for the award let alone win! It’s an amazing feeling to have been recognised on such a level for what it means to set up and run a successful business from scratch, as well as the journey every ‘entrepreneur’ endeavours, to which I have nothing but respect for. Awards like these show real testament to all of the business owners across the region for the amazing things they do and truly powering the back bone of our economy.” – Alistair O’Sullivan.

In the three short years that Diony have been trading, Alistair has grown the business significantly; scaling turnover and profits by a minimum of double year on year and building a reliable team of marketing experts, with plans to grow the team further throughout 2021. But his credentials for the award stretch further than strong growth, as a resilient, sustainable strategy has been put in place. Alongside that he and the team developed the Recover Initiative, a free initiative that helps brands progress and bounce back out of the effects of COVID-19 offering the likes of free marketing audits, strategy sessions, and marketing grant funding.

With no initial investment or clients, the company has seen sustainable growth and diversification of service offering since it’s early days, Diony is now working with clients of national scale. Alistair negotiated the buy-out of a fellow Director in the company’s infancy, while also making several very influential new appointments over the past few months.

It’s onwards and upwards for Diony, with larger targets now being set and plans to expand the business significantly over the next year, doubling the number of employees and acquiring multiple new offices in York and Hull – watch this space!

We’d like to congratulate all the other winners and finalists involved in the awards, it’s great to see so many local companies smashing it despite everything that’s going on in the world – check out the official list of finalists here.

Finally, a massive thank you to Business Live for a lovely evening – let’s hope next year we’ll be back!
