My Past Year’s Experience at the SEO Agency in Hull

So, who am I? 

What is it that I do? 

Well… that’s a good question – It’s a question that a lot of people tend to ask when looking to invest into this sort of marketing. So, when somebody asks who am I and what is it that I do… here’s how I respond.

“I work at a performance marketing agency called Diony, in Hull. I’m an SEO executive and my role is to improve the online visibility of a client’s website on a search engine. This is through a range of marketing techniques that improve the website’s ranking on a SERP, as well as a load of other methods that can increase your website’s performance.”

In conclusion, my role is to achieve the client’s goals / KPIs by improving their website performance. This might be by increasing traffic to the website, improving user engagement, or by promoting certain aspects of the website.

What has it been like to provide SEO?

SEO is all about making sure that particular aspects of your website are performing as well as they can on the search engine. That’s why it’s called Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). 

In some ways this can be complicated to carry out as there are many factors around SEO. However, being a performance agency, Diony has a pretty good grasp of what is that needs to be done for each client. So far, we’ve seen a range of new features included in our services, having a focus around reporting and analysis. As well as discovering greater opportunity within the services we offer and also a higher level of retention from existing clients that already use our services. 

In terms of future prospects, having greater retention shows the success and trust that we develop with our clients. This not only improves our credibility, but also entices current clients to offer future work and grow the relationship that we’ve formed. 

We always try to come across as a partner, not a provider. For a performance agency this couldn’t be more true. We have a close relationship with our clients and internalise their brand as much as possible. This is something that we expect to see a lot more of in the future, as more companies want to bring marketing in-house… we provide flexible solutions that allow the client to achieve results and also have access to high quality services – without being limited by the cost of having it in-house.

When it comes to SEO it’s all about knowing your audience and the level of understanding that they have on the service. A client with low understanding might not grasp what it is that you’re trying to propose – so it’s important that you briefly educate them on what it is that you’re trying to achieve through service. 

How SEO works and the benefits that come with it.

A key aspect of carrying out SEO, especially around performance marketing, is how it works and the benefits that come with it. For example, discussing how you would implement a strong keyword strategy to increase online traffic, would then allow you to talk about how that benefits the website’s acquisition and conversion. 

In doing this you’ll see that your client will have more confidence in your service. This then means you have more flexibility in terms of what you need to implement and also allows the process to run much more efficiently.

  2. Understand your audience and what they’re looking for: if you know you’re audience and what they’re looking for… all you need to do is provide it. 
  3. Know your goals / KPIs: once you know what you want to do, find out how well you’re doing it and what you need to do in order to successfully achieve it. 
  4. Plan your strategy: having a strategy for SEO is all well and good, but do you actually know what you’re going to do once it’s finished and what each aspect might require. If not this might be something that you want to organise in order to make your strategy as effective as possible. 
  5. Test and measure: not everything is going to go right, there will be twists and turns throughout your SEO. In order to make sure your SEO is successful, you need to know how you can better marketing efforts and what is actually working well from your SEO. If something works well that usually an indication to do more of it.
