Developing Our Team: Adapting to the Ever Changing Employment Climate

We recently had the pleasure of introducing you to our new Partner and Marketing Director, Lisa, but this isn’t the only thing that we have been working on.

As a Marketing Agency in Hull, we have grown rapidly over the past couple of years and one of the key success factors in our next phase of growth is making sure our internal work team are happy and feel supported.

In the past year, not only have we welcomed new staff members, we have been developing our internal staff development opportunities — we truly believe in our employees and want to set them up to be the next Senior Managers and Directors of Diony.

Our Founder and Managing Director, Alistair said: “Many of our internal team have been with us since the beginning and seeing them grow with Diony is extremely rewarding. We couldn’t have gotten to our position today without them.”

Lisa continued: “We have a great team of Marketers here at Diony and truly talented Marketers are hard to find. When you do find them, you have to do everything you can to keep them.”

Part of our new staff development strategy is a compulsory training hour each day. This can be in any area individuals want to develop, whether it’s within their current skill set or expanding into a new area, as long as it helps them to succeed within their role.

Alistair said: “Many organisations are scared to invest in training in case their employees leave. That says everything it needs to about the organisation. At Diony, training is a must — Marketing is a quick-changing industry that, as a team, we have to be ready for.”

Another area of our staff development strategy is to focus on employee wellbeing and flexibility. This includes work from home options, gym memberships and wellbeing days.

Lisa mentioned: “The past couple of years has shifted the requirements of employees. It’s also demonstrated what’s possible within the workplace, but at the centre of it all is trust.

We are proud to offer these benefits to our employees because we trust them to the core. We know that if they choose to work-from-home, they will still work to an exceptional standard.”

Having foundations for success in place as an organisation means that we are extremely excited and ready to move forward and grow. This includes introducing new staff members and new office locations, so watch this space…
